Hotel El Convent de Begur

We stayed at the end of September and had a lovely time. The facility was nice, and it’s about a 10-minute walk to a small beach town or a quick drive into Begur. Our room was huge and very clean. Since it was on the ground floor, though, we could hear people outside. The layout has two separate rooms behind one door, so if a neighbor gets up early, you’ll hear everything. Most of the front desk staff were really friendly, though the woman on the late shift was less approachable. There was a pretty big language barrier with some staff, including people who spoke no English, but they still went out of their way to communicate with us, which we really appreciated. I’d recommend the hotel.

I checked in two days ago after booking through booking .com. I wasn’t expecting much, even though the price isn’t low. My room was by the entrance, isolated, with little sun or air, and it smelled damp. The staff are very nice, but they don’t know much about the area or have many tips to offer, so you have to find everything out yourself. Basically, it’s a place to sleep and eat. The restaurant food is decent, and again, the staff are so nice. It’s close to the beach, but that’s not the beach you want to go to. The beautiful ones are a drive away.

Hotel El Convent is just a short walk from Sa Riera beach, down the hill from the center of Begur. The hotel is connected to other parts of Begur by well-marked paths, making for lovely nature walks during the day. We had a spectacular stay. The facilities were clean, spacious, and relaxing, and the staff were super friendly and attentive. They gave us excellent recommendations for the area, thanks Galla!

Mama Pizza, the pizza place by the beach near the hotel, was great. The hotel is well located by a lovely beach, and the staff were nice. We had a great stay.
