Casa Miguel Périz

The views were lovely and it was almost completely quiet during our week there. You can hear that there’s a factory nearby and the air conditioning runs constantly, but neither bothered us; a very light sleeper might feel differently. The owners were friendly, and though they live next door, we hardly ever saw them. Parking is shared with the other house, and there was plenty of room for everyone, despite the complaints I’d read. There were ten of us split across both floors. The house was very clean and well equipped, though we missed having an oven and mosquito screens in the bedrooms. A few hot nights made it tempting to leave the windows wide open, but we worried about mosquitoes. Some beds were uncomfortable at first, though we got used to them after a night or two.

The house is in a great spot and is well looked after, with what you need for a comfortable stay. My three stars are mainly down to the cleanliness and the mosquito screens. Only two windows have them, which made sleeping on hot days tough if we wanted to avoid getting bitten. ;)

Everything we wanted to visit in the area was easy to reach from this fantastic location. The house itself was great, and the owners were really, really friendly. If we come back here, we’ll choose it again.

The place has some good points, but staying beside a pharmaceutical company that makes noise day and night, every day, wasn’t pleasant on vacation. With the curtains open, the sun and heat pour in, and there are flies. The kitchen equipment is very basic, with no thoughtful touches. The owners come and go by car, and even parked one beneath the tree in front of the bedroom window. It looks clean at first, but walking around barefoot shows how much dirt is there. And make sure they don’t find some excuse to keep your deposit.
