Abba Fonseca Hotel

You can walk easily to everything from here, since the hotel is close to Plaza Mayor. Room 306 had a lovely view of the Cathedral, and the mattresses were excellent. The staff were attentive, and breakfast was generous and delicious. There’s a great gym, though no pool.

Every part of the experience felt five star. Staff across directions, reception, and the restaurant were kind, professional, and eager to help. Absolutely wonderful.

Breakfast was a highlight, with a very good selection of local products, and the location is ideal near downtown. The rooms are spacious and pleasant, but ours was cold when we arrived and took a long time to heat up. Although the hotel wasn’t full, we got two beds pushed together instead of a double, and they kept sliding apart. The service felt a bit rude. Our gift box included a night and spa experience, but the jacuzzi wasn’t working and we weren’t offered any compensation. Parking is 19 euros.

The breakfast buffet’s little section of local food was the standout for me. It had pastries, olive oils, cheeses, and other items from nearby towns, laid out in a way that felt thoughtfully part of the whole breakfast. I haven’t seen it done like that before, and it gave the Salamanca stay a special touch. I’d return for that alone. The hotel’s views are lovely because it’s in such a nice area, and the rooms were clean and prepared to a very high standard. Service was great too, with everyone treating us well and looking after us proactively. We accidentally broke the orange juice machine, but they had it fixed within minutes and were especially kind about it. I was worried, and they handled it very calmly. Such nice, courteous staff.
