The rooms were dirty and run-down, and the doors were broken, including the hotel's front door. There’s no soundproofing, so you hear everything and can’t rest. We were also told parking and breakfast were part of the hotel, but they’re actually several kilometers away. There’s no staff on site either. This felt more like a zoo than a hotel, and the place deserves to close. A scam.

The room was spacious and clean, and it’s an easy walk from the main bus station. Most popular attractions are within walking distance too, so the location is outstanding. Access to the main door and room is electronic, so read the emailed instructions carefully if that system is unfamiliar to you. The bathroom had a bit of a smell. They try to cover it with a diffuser, but I suspect it’s coming from the pipes, which may not be an easy fix.

Just a basic room, nothing fancy, in a small, budget, family-owned hotel. It’s very convenient for Plaza Mayor and the Basilica, and there’s a small private garage nearby for 10euro. We were there during Semana Santa, and it was perfect for watching the processions just steps away.

I find being left to check myself in too impersonal, and the digital check-in didn’t work for us, so we had to call. That could have been a problem if I hadn’t had a SIM card. I also needed help arranging parking and ended up relying on Google maps.

I booked because the reviews were so good, but I don’t know where those ratings came from. There’s just a touchpad, with no one there to look after you. The room was freezing, and the heating was incredibly loud. A central heating unit outside the back window ran all night, and it felt like I was trying to sleep beside a helicopter pad.
