Residencia Batuecas

I lived there last year and had a bad experience. The residence is outdated, isolated, and the facilities feel fragile. The nearest supermarket is 20 minutes away, and it seemed like everything else took a half-hour walk, wherever I needed to go. The staff also struck me as strange. Things broke easily: the sink kept clogging, drawer fronts fell off by themselves, the bed was made of cheap cork, and the shower flooded easily. The residence manager was frightening and repeatedly showed a serious lack of respect for personal space. I wouldn’t recommend living there, even as a last resort. I’d save a hundred euros and find an apartment or a cheaper residence farther away, or spend a hundred euros more on somewhere closer to campus.

The rooms are excellent, and I think the value for money is very good. There aren’t many shared amenities, but the small residence is in a relatively new part of Salamanca, away from the bustle. It suits someone who wants to study and is used to noise from other areas. I definitely recommend it.

I stayed at the residence this past year and highly recommend it. My room was a fairly spacious studio with everything I needed. Because it’s a small place, it was quieter than the residences my roommates had told me about, and the walls weren’t the kind where you hear everything. The mattress was new and comfortable, like one in a hotel.

I’ve stayed here twice, for one night each time. It’s in a quiet area with plenty of parking, and the rooms have good equipment and comfortable beds. The staff are wonderful, and it’s excellent value for money. Highly recommend.
