Nh Palacio De Castellanos

The breakfast buffet had a wide selection of very good products, and the staff were consistently friendly. We slept very well thanks to the good mattresses, and the room was quiet at night, although its poorly insulated door let noise from the hallway or lobby through. The hotel is in a beautiful building in central Salamanca, with valet parking in the building. Just tell reception when you need the car and they'll bring it to the entrance. There are a few stairs to reach the hotel entrance, but staff helped with our luggage.

The location and service were good, and breakfast was good too, though the room it was served in wasn't suitable even for a small group. We won't return because of the room problems. It was very small, with only a velux window, despite my Minor/Discovery Member status. The door was poorly insulated, so we heard a noisy group of students in the corridor all night.

A beautiful hotel, impressive down to the smallest details. The service was kind, breakfast was tasteful, and the location is excellent for seeing Salamanca's main sights.

GHA / Minor / NH Titanium member review. This was the worst property I've stayed in during my tour of Spain. They seem to have no basic idea of hospitality and are a disgrace to the NH brand. It was so bad it was pathetic. Before arriving, I asked about restaurants and was rudely brushed off and told to arrange things myself. Without Spanish, that was a challenge. NH Collection Ghent arranged all this for me, so this felt like laziness. I was given room 110, with no double upgrade. It was noisy, with banging and arguments in the corridor, and looked onto a car park with security cameras, so there was no privacy. Several Premium rooms were available to book, yet they sent me to a terrible room. The older gentlemen in the cafeteria were exceptionally kind. But there were no water refills during my stay, even though basic NH does this in Spain. They insist you pay €4.65 for water, or dehydrate yourself to death, or queue for 20 mins in a local carrefour, freezing your ass off to buy water on Christmas. The nickel and diming of tourists continued. I got a decorated cork for Christmas Day, which was a joke. If you buy an overpriced drink at the bar, you get nothing with it. Palacio de Tepa in Madrid at least provides some chips with a beer. I was soooo disappointed. This fell far below my expectations. No one cares here; they seem too arrogant or deluded and choose to cheap out instead of meeting NH Collection standards. I wouldn't return. This is also a matter for Minor Management. The standard is not NH worthy at all.
