4R Casablanca Playa

The waterfront location and view were lovely, but I left disappointed and wouldn’t come back. The first floor had a constant unpleasant smell from the kitchen. Our room had very cold floors and no slippers, and the bathroom was even colder, with an icy floor that made it unpleasant to use. The staff didn’t seem welcoming or focused on guests. For me, the comfort and service fell short of what the hotel’s category suggests. I don’t think it merits four stars.

The setting is nice, but I wouldn’t say this hotel is worth the money. We stayed at 4R Casablanca Playa Hotel in Salou, and the food was a major disappointment. The buffet had very little choice, and much of it seemed old and reheated. Dishes were dry, bland, and overcooked; even the “noodles” were overcooked spaghetti. We barely ate because it tasted so bad. When we raised this, we were told to try the à la carte restaurant instead, with the explanation that buffet food costs less and is lower quality. À la carte may be fine, but that doesn’t make the buffet acceptable for a four-star hotel. Our room itself was okay, but we’d asked for one large bed and got two singles without being told. The room safe also wouldn’t close, which is unacceptable.

We really enjoyed our stay, and we’ll be back. The rooms were a little small, but the food was delicious, especially the freshly baked bread at breakfast. The sea views were stunning and the location was just right. Thank you!

There wasn’t much variety in the meals. Breakfast stayed the same, dinner changed now and then, and drinks at dinner weren’t included, so you had to pay for them. Aside from that, the stay was superb. They were pleasant with our pet. The reception ladies were friendly, as were the kitchen staff, and the cleaner on the second floor was lovely. Thanks! Darren.
