Ancora Salou Apartamentos

It’s a calm, beautiful place with a nice view, and everything was very clean. The odd thing was that there were no towels, sheets, or bathroom mat. After leaving the bathroom I had to walk with wet feet, and water stayed pooled by the door.

We stayed in late September and early October and had a lovely time. Our room was on the first floor, overlooking the pool, and the hotel was well located. The extra toilet paper had to be paid for once the initial amount ran out, and towels weren’t free. Even so, we’d definitely stay again.

The biggest annoyance was seeing towels left on pool sunbeds for hours with nobody there. I think staff should time how long they’ve been left and remove them after 30 minutes to an hour. The safe also costs a lot to use, though plenty of people will pay it. We had a great stay at the Ancora apartments. It was very clean and roomy, and the staff were helpful and pleasant. I had to laugh at some reviews complaining about taking out their own rubbish. Do they have a butler at home to do that menial job? I’d definitely recommend the Ancora Apartments.

The apartment location and staff were great, and I’d come back, but I wouldn’t pay the extra for a Club apartment unless the outside areas are fixed up and cleaned. I booked a Club Apartment and got Room 701. Inside, it was spacious, well equipped, and clean. Still, it would’ve helped to have a vacuum for tidying up when we left. La Siesta provided one on my previous stay. The views and outside space were good, but the upkeep really let it down. Some sun lounger slats were broken, the cushions were very dirty, and the outdoor shower area was grimy. The lights had rust on them, with some kind of mess on the floor underneath. I’m not sure what it was, but it needs attention. The outdoor table and chairs were worn too, one back cushion was falling down, and the other cushions could do with replacing. For the price of upgrading from premium to Club, I’d expect the outside area to be in better shape.
