The sea view from the balcony is priceless. The apartment building is well equipped and in a great location.

Spent a few days in a small condo/flat. It was quiet, really convenient, and a nice place to stay.

The location is hard to beat, with the sea view, restaurants, bars, shops, the center of Torremolinos and the sea wall lift all close by. Parking in the building is handy if you're driving, and the bed was large and very comfortable. Still, we left after two days and found another place at the same price. We wanted insulation and double glazing, along with a modern open-plan kitchen, dishwasher and 4-zone induction cooktop. We now have a cozy, spacious, safe and comfortable apartment in the heart of Torremolinos, with a sea view, and moved to avoid ruining our holiday. We had booked this apartment through Booking.com for a month. When we arrived, reception gave us the keys. The building sits on a cliff over the sea, but the apartment is on the first floor above the garbage disposal area. It feels like the building dates from before insulation existed. The windows are original single glazing in wooden frames, and the terrace off both the living room and bedroom faces north-northeast. It felt cold straight away, so we switched on the hot and cold air conditioning, which worked perfectly. We still couldn't make sense of the temperature display, which jumped from 20 to 32 and then landed on 23 within minutes. There are units in the living room and bedroom, but no bathroom heating, so after dinner that first night we bought a space heater. The lack of insulation also meant we heard everything. A family with a child was staying above us, and at times it sounded as if they were in our apartment. We could hear loud conversations in the hallway and reception. Around 3:00 a.m., the garbage truck woke us, and its employees were clearly chatting away. We contacted Booking.com to ask about compensation. They said it was up to the owner, who didn't see a problem because the air conditioning worked and he had blankets to keep himself warm. That misses the point. The apartment needs a major, expensive renovation to suit modern travelers who want a comfortable stay. The problems we found: 1. The single-glazed windows don't keep the place warm. The living room door to the terrace doesn't shut all the way, and a gap underneath lets in cold air. See photos. Double glazing is urgently needed to make the apartment warm and comfortable and cut electricity use. 2. Better insulation would also cut needless noise and allow a peaceful night's sleep. 3. There's not enough access to power for all the devices we travel with. The living room and living room have too few outlets, which are already being used for lamps because there are no ceiling lights. In the kitchen, the light above the stovetop hangs from a cord taped to the extractor fan cable, in an area constantly pulling out damp air. Unsafe! See photo. 4. The renovated bathroom already has visible mold. See photos. 5. We moved a living room lamp and found its glass bulb loose on the base. It could fall and break, creating a danger for children. We can't recommend the apartment despite its potential. The position is ideal, and parking in the center of Torremolinos is priceless, but it needs a thorough renovation to be safe, comfortable and pleasant.

Rafa was a lovely host, and the apartment was beautiful, decorated with taste and thoughtful little touches. The location was as good as it gets. I'd happily stay here again. Thanks, Rafa, for everything.
