Apartamento Differentflats Casalmar

The building manager, Palmira, more or less blamed me for the break-in, saying I should have installed an alarm like she and her colleague had in their building. The security cameras were no use because they didn't work. This happened after someone came in through the communal terrace, crossed onto the terrace of the penthouse A1 I was renting for the winter, and got in through the master bedroom window, which I hadn't realized was unoccupied. It was the afternoon of Monday, February 13, 2023, while I was out. They took everything: electronics, my computer, perfumes, shoes, jackets, clothes they seemed to have picked out, a laptop battery, an iPhone charger, and a speaker. I came back to a complete mess. I filed a police report, but nothing was recovered. After that, I didn't feel safe enough to sleep there. The owner's response was the worst part. I was away for 16 days, and she didn't take even one day's rent off, saying I'd left by choice. The insurance didn't cover any of what was stolen. What if I'd stayed for two days with the communal terrace door broken and still unrepaired? I'd look for somewhere that takes security and empathy seriously before renting here. They were clearly missing both.
