Golden Avenida Family Suites

My children have been so happy with the entertainment team this year, especially the new girls. They weren’t here last year, and their kindness and friendliness have made everyone feel welcome and our holiday even more special. Thanks for all your hard work and enthusiasm!

The food was out of this world. Breakfast had cooked and cold options, and there was steak, fish including sea bread, hake, dogfish and shark, plus veal, pork, burgers, pasta, pizza, chips and salad. The rooms looked smart, were comfortable and got cleaned every day. The staff were fantastic, from the friendly cleaners and helpful chefs to the polite bar team. A special word for Ingrid, who always seemed available for questions or just a chat.

The pool and bar entertainment during the day and evening was good, and the hotel felt clean and modern. The staff were good in general, and rooms were refreshed daily when needed. We could only book room-only for some reason, so we paid €32 for two people to have breakfast on our first morning. Bar prices weren’t bad for a hotel. For afternoon sun on the balcony, ask for a room in the 20s with a pool view.

Jesus from the entertainment team was the best, and Marta, the rest of the team and the kids’ club were all amazing. Salou itself is a great place to stay, with good nightlife, daytime activities and a very safe feel. We had an amazing two weeks at the resort, though by the second week I’d stopped eating the all-inclusive food. I’m not sure whether I’d just got tired of it, but it needs more variety or some kind of quality control. I have a fish allergy, and once a pizza labelled Margherita had fish in it. Breakfast was bland, and some options, like the beef, were really tough to eat. Thanks for the stay. Please upgrade the gym facilities :)
