There was no lock, no towels, no duvet and no housekeeping. The apartment was filthy, with peeling blackberries. The sheets were stained and disgusting. We were told to leave the place clean, but it was absolutely filthy when we arrived. Avoid at all costs. Horrible, disgusting, a disgrace. Don’t even think about coming.

The terrace was the best part, very large and spacious. This tourist apartment is in the heart of Salou, just a few metres from one of the city’s most popular nightclubs, Tropical. On arrival, the sheets were dirty and stained, with hairs on the pillows, and the towels were dirty and used. There were no cleaning products, so we had to buy them ourselves. The bathrooms had no toilet paper, shampoo or body wash. The apartment company expected us to leave the place clean and tidy, yet didn’t follow health and safety protocols. Asking for a €300 deposit when the apartment is in such poor condition that health authorities could easily seal it off is shameful.

The place was in a good location, but filthy. Sheets and towels had various fluid stains, there was hair on the beds, and the shower had mold. The walls seemed like cardboard, so we could hear people in other rooms. There weren’t enough towels or sheets for everyone, no shower gel or hand soap, and not even a bathroom towel to keep everything from getting wet. There were no basic cleaning items like Fairy or a scouring pad, even though guests were told to leave the apartment clean, mop the floors and so on. Everyone who stayed there was disappointed and disgusted by its state, which was nothing like the booking app had advertised. For the same price, you can find apartments in better condition and locations.

Although the location is good, right in the centre of Salou, you can find other places in this tourist area at a similar price with better service. The apartment was in terrible condition. The cupboard doors wouldn’t open, and the floors, walls and bathrooms were dirty. The towels and sheets were stained with blood, mud and other marks, and covered in hair, so they clearly hadn’t been washed beforehand. There weren’t enough towels for our group either. A sign stressed how important it was to leave the apartment clean, but no cleaning products or dish scrubber were provided, so we had to buy them ourselves. There were no basic supplies such as toilet paper or hand soap. When we checked out, we asked for a complaint form, and the woman who helped us was very unfriendly. Other guests at the hotel reception had the same complaints. The cleaning situation was truly lamentable, and we hope we didn’t catch anything.
