Albergue Agustina - Hostel

Don’t go unless you’ve confirmed it’s open. We booked through hotels.com, but the albergue was closed when we arrived. After a very long walk, we had to carry on to the next village.

The place felt new, and Agustina looked after us wonderfully during Hispanic Heritage Weekend. We had a fantastic stay and would come back when we’re in the area again. There are different room options for different needs and budgets: doubles, triples, connecting rooms for families who want two rooms, and beds in larger rooms that cost less. There’s a kitchen too, if you’d rather cook dinner at the hostel.

She even welcomed us at 2 a.m., then served us breakfast the next morning. Such a friendly, kind woman, and she made us feel at home. Her homemade quince compote was delicious. A really positive experience, highly recommended.

Everything was clean and tidy in this recently built or renovated house. It’s a good hostel and bar in Samir de los Caños, Aliste, with rooms for different budgets, from basic bunk beds to doubles with en-suite bathrooms. The owner runs the bar in the house next door, where you can get good, generous meals. You can also try her homemade wine, a local Aliste tradition. It’s a smooth red with a little fizz.
