Aparthotel Playa del Sol - Adults Only

The room didn’t have the view we had on our first visit, since we were on the ground floor this time instead of up high. The staff were still as friendly and helpful as ever, and the service was very good. Being right by the Yumbo is ideal. I also really like the pool, though this time some loud, outspoken British guests made it hard for people who wanted to relax. I’m British myself and felt embarrassed by their behaviour. That’s not the hotel’s fault, and I do still like staying here.

It’s cheap, and at least there were no bedbugs, so I suppose it was OK. Still, there’s no air conditioning, and the hot water tank was so tiny that we had to wait hours between showers. There’s nobody at reception, either, so it feels more like renting an apartment than getting hotel service. I wasn’t keen on the pool at all.

The location is the best part, right beside the Yumbo and close to all the local amenities. The rooms are comfortable, the pool is good, and the hotel is OK.

I’m sorry I won’t be able to stay here in 2026 because it’ll be closed during the big renovation. I’ve been coming every year, and the staff are still welcoming, friendly and helpful. The unit is the same as before, though it’s starting to look a bit worn around the edges. There’s no air conditioning, which can be uncomfortable on some nights. Both that and the tired look are meant to be dealt with in the refit over the coming year. The pool and gym are both great.
