Riu Palace Meloneras

We had sunshine and warm weather on 12 of our 13 January days, which was a lovely bonus. This was our second two-week visit, and we already plan to return next January. The buffet was superb, and we also enjoyed a few dinners at the Spanish Restaurant. Felix and his staff took great care of us there. The whole team made the holiday special. Lola at reception was excellent, Anara looked after us at breakfast, and we got to know the evening waiting staff and their different personalities. The management were around, friendly and easy to approach. From arrival to departure, everyone was helpful. Claudia did a fab job keeping our room clean, and the regular towel changes were appreciated. Thanks to everyone for a wonderful stay!

There were plenty of loungers by the pools, with spots in both sun and shade, and staff brought drinks to us. The food was tasty and varied. We liked the Espanol restaurant, though Krystal fusion didn't really work for us. Our 8.30 booking may have been later than we wanted, the service was very quick, the food wasn't hot enough, and the room lacked a comfortable atmosphere. The resort, hotel and rooms were all very clean. Staff were wonderful, plentiful, and always willing to help. It's a fantastic place for a relaxing break, and we'll be back.

The buffet was brilliant, with everything from pizza, pasta and chips to steak, fish and roast dinner. There was high quality meat, seafood and vegetarian food, so all sorts of tastes were covered. The dress code was relaxed, and we felt comfortable in whatever we chose to wear. We also had a wonderful spa treatment. This was our first stay at this hotel and at any Riu, and we had a fantastic time. We got a complimentary upgrade to a lovely balcony with a sea view. The staff were friendly and so helpful, and Martin made us smile every day. The pools were clean and well maintained, with lots of loungers and waiters bringing food and drinks. Our bed was very comfy, and the room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels and sheets when needed. There are local shops and cafes a two-minute walk from the seafront end of the hotel. Drinks at the hotel bar were reasonably priced during the day. There was music or dance entertainment every evening. With not many children around, most spaces were quiet and relaxed. We'd be very happy to stay again.

We come here for a week's holiday twice every year and always have a fabulous time. The staff give first-class care, and the food selection is varied, amazing, and suits most palates. I'd certainly recommend the hotel to family and friends. Looking forward to our next visit later this year.
