Hotels.com contacted me tonight to say the owner cancelled our reservation with less than 24 hours' notice. I'm furious about how this was handled. We booked in October 2023 for a stay starting 3 February 2024. I tried twice to get check-in instructions through Hotels.com, then emailed directly and sent a text, with no reply. When I finally found a phone number and called, the host said she'd send the instructions on WhatsApp on Friday night, 2 February. I was skeptical, but trusted that she'd follow through. If there had been a double booking and the host had told us earlier, I would have understood and booked somewhere else. Leaving it until this point feels disgusting. Shame on you.

It took me a week to process how bad our experience at this complex was. The customer service from the person responsible for Vista Bella bungalows was so poor that, in this day and age, it was almost shocking to be treated that way. I won't ever go back. The cleaning staff, though, were very good.

The place is basic, but really good value. The host gets 10/10.
