The courtyard is lovely, but I wouldn't call this a hotel, and the four-star rating seems hard to believe. I stayed in Room 6 and found small bugs and spiders on the curtains as soon as I walked in, plus a fly that kept darting away. The next morning there were two long worms curled up by the wall. The towels had visible stains, the shower gel dispenser fell off, and there were hairs on the sheets. I couldn't tell whether housekeeping had left them or the sheets hadn't been changed. Parking is limited too. When I returned after going out, I had to leave the car on the roadside.
Brooklyn at the front desk made check-in easy and answered all my dad's parking questions. For an expense report, the price was really worthwhile compared with what downtown hotels usually cost.
The place itself is a beautiful city villa with a lush garden, and the location works well: near the center of la Laguna and easy to reach by car, with good on-site parking for a city hotel. The owner was also quick and clear in their communication. I gave it four stars, though my stay in room 6 felt more like 3.5, and I suspect the overall rating is a bit high. The room smelled odd and was unpleasant. It sat outside the main building by the entrance, with thin walls and enough noise that sleeping with the window open was nearly impossible. Breakfast was fine, nothing special. I also found self check-in and check-out impersonal for a boutique hotel, which should have more of a personal touch.
I loved staying here. The hotel is beautiful, the staff are friendly, and breakfast was nice.
The location is lovely and quiet, near bus stops and lots of restaurants. The breakfast staff were friendly, and the decor was nice. But there were worms in the toilet, which was horrible and frightening. We told the staff, who offered another room and said they'd use pesticide first thing in the morning. We chose to stay because it was the nicest room available to us. The worms came back the next day. We messaged again and got an apology, but nothing more. For an expensive four-star hotel, we expected some compensation. Being afraid to use the toilet for half the trip isn't normal, and we shouldn't have had to wait a day for it to be dealt with, especially since it wasn't resolved. The room seemed worn and not properly looked after. The sheets smelled old despite being washed, looked a bit gray, and had stains. The towels were in similarly tired condition, with stains and threads coming loose. I understand they shouldn't be replaced too often, but they should be changed when they're that worn. Breakfast choices were limited, and finished food wasn't replenished. On our first day, we arrived at 9 and there wasn't much left. There was also a broken balcony window, and reception was staffed only for a few hours a day. After the toilet problem, I wouldn't call this place a hotel.
