La Laguna Deluxe Apartment

I booked at the last minute, and even though my flight was delayed, the woman meeting us with the keys waited and looked after us so well. She also suggested a dinner spot we really liked. The apartment was spotless, right in the center and a minute from Avenida Trinidad, with everything well equipped. It was a lovely surprise. Thanks for being so welcoming.

The dishes were what made this stay so upsetting. One we went to use had dried food and grime on it, and every small plate and almost all the larger ones were dirty. These were things that go straight into your mouth, which made it especially disgusting. The owner admitted they were dirty but took the complaint personally. We showed her evidence, also included in the review photos, but she had no response or solution. Eventually she stopped replying altogether. The €49 cleaning charge was hard to accept given the state of the dishes, terrace railings and sheets. We arrived on March 23, 2023. The next morning we found blood on the bed that wasn't ours. We told the owner and she promptly replaced the linens, so that was handled. But the dishes became a much bigger issue. After trying all day to resolve things, we contacted Booking.com right away and sent photos and videos. It took almost eight hours to get an answer. When Booking.com reached out to her, she denied we'd contacted her and denied seeing any evidence, even though we have WhatsApp messages showing she'd seen the photos and acknowledged the dirty dishes. They eventually offered us the option to leave that Friday night and refund the nights we wouldn't be staying. We never meant to offend or disrespect her. The apartment was okay, though not exactly cheap. What upset us was the lack of professionalism, honesty and communication. Since cleaning was her responsibility, a little empathy and a proper response could have stopped the situation from escalating. I wouldn't recommend this rental. There are hotels on the island with better service and prices.

The hosts are attentive whenever anything comes up, and there are lots of considerate touches that make the stay comfortable. The accommodation itself is impeccable. I'd highly recommend it.

Our family appreciated all the thoughtful details in this clean, comfortable apartment. It's close to the city center and easy to reach from the main road. Definitely recommend it.
