La Laguna Gran Hotel

The hotel sits right in the heart of La Laguna, surrounded by cafes, restaurants, historic buildings and museums. The entrance and lobby are beautiful, and the lounge is a lovely place for snacks and drinks, with fantastic furnishings. Staff were attentive, and the hotel was very clean, with comfortable beds. Our room itself was okay, and the furnishings were good, but the view was one of the worst I’ve had in a hotel. My husband and granddaughter were ill for most of the vacation, so we spent a lot of time in the room. With no terrace or balcony, all we could see was a graffiti-covered brick wall, which made that harder. Breakfast was okay. If you came down after 9am, the hot option was cold, but the staff quickly sorted it out. We’ll come back sometime later in the year.

Breakfast was generous, varied, excellent quality, and had plenty of options. The staff were friendly and attentive, and we felt well looked after throughout our stay. La Laguna Gran Hotel is perfectly placed for Carnival: close enough to enjoy the festivities in Santa Cruz, but far enough away to come back to peace and quiet in the evening. Our rooms were comfortable, well equipped, and thoughtfully designed. A bathrobe for the walk to the swimming pool would have been a nice extra. We had a wonderful stay and would happily return.

The staff were great and even packed us a very nice lunch because we had to leave before breakfast. We only stayed one night, and wished we’d had time to try the cafe and food and enjoy the facilities. It was a flawless, bike-friendly hotel, with comfortable, quiet, clean, spacious rooms and beautiful decor in the common areas. Highly recommend it.

I mentioned in the Wi-Fi feedback on my first day that a kettle would be useful for making tea. Just 30 minutes later, two ladies brought one to my room, along with a few teabags and two glasses. That’s great service! The hotel also has a good gym and nice interiors.
