We booked for May 22nd to 25th. When we arrived, my partner found a health alert online saying bacteria had made the town water unsafe to drink. A neighbor confirmed it and kindly gave us half a jug of water for the night. We appreciated that, since the owners hadn't told us, even though they'd contacted us the day before and later admitted they knew about the issue. They said they'd forgotten because they were busy with medical appointments, though they had remembered to ask what time we'd arrive. After we called, the owners brought a jug of water to the accommodation. They seemed arrogant and said they didn't understand why we were angry. They told us it was no problem to drink the water, wash dishes, or brush our teeth with it, because they drank it themselves and nothing had happened to them before. They said it was only an occasional issue. Health isn't something to gamble with. When I book a place, I expect at least that my stay won't make me sick. Their actions made us feel that guests' health mattered little to them, and they also lied in their response to our Booking.com review. That night we got in the car and left. Given the health risk, it was the best decision we could make. I'd advise future guests to check the town hall website for health alerts during their stay, since the owners may not notify them. They could leave with a souvenir magnet and, if they're lucky, a major gastrointestinal cleanse.

Maria Jesus and her husband Pedro were so kind, and they shared information about routes and places to visit in the wonderful Arribes del Duero Natural Park. I came to research my surname because my great-grandfather and great-great-grandparents were from this charming village. La Morada del Tío was a beautiful, welcoming house, and I loved staying there for the week. If you get the chance to visit San Felices, don't hesitate to stay with them. La Morada del Tío had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and they were so attentive whenever anything came up. The breakfast was incredible, and the cozy little house was comfortable with every detail taken care of. They also suggested routes and villages to visit nearby. We spent a few days in beautiful San Felices de los Gallegos and couldn't have picked a better place. We absolutely recommend it and will be back. Thanks for making the trip so welcoming and easy 💖
