The sound of the Atlantic was wonderful, and the sea was an easy walk away. The bread man also stopped by every day, and there was a nearby bus stop. The house was clean, cared for, and furnished with real affection, just as the photos show. It sits right beside the roaring ocean. That clifftop setting looking straight out at the surf is a dream. Rustic, charming, a little quirky, and furnished with care. If listening to the waves is your thing, you'll love it. The hosts were so warm and helpful.

We loved ending the day on the terrace beneath the stars, with an owl appearing briefly each night. During our two-week stay, this old house and its caring hosts made us feel at home. Marina and Alejandro Sr. and Jr. looked after us so warmly: they carried our luggage when we arrived, stayed available throughout, shared Christmas cookies, and gave us useful local tips. The setting is remarkable, right beside the Atlantic, where the surf's steady sound was soothing around the clock. The house seems to be more than a century old, partly made of solid stone and partly set into the rocks. It's at the edge of a small, authentic village of about 30 friendly, helpful people. A local baker brought fresh bread to the door each morning. We had privacy without feeling cut off. The house's position and structure keep the rooms hidden from outside, though walkers on the trail just in front could be heard, along with the neighbor's rooster crowing early each morning. Furnishings are simple but thoughtfully chosen, with what you need for a relaxing holiday. Everywhere was spotless, including corners, beneath the beds, and the balconies.

We spent eight days at Casa Virgen del Rosario in mid-April 2024 and really enjoyed it. The house is right on the Atlantic, beautifully kept, and in excellent shape, with lovely attention to detail and lots of attractive plants on all the terraces. It felt like a place to settle in and feel at home. Not being able to drive right up to the house wasn't an issue thanks to the owner's great service. Restaurants in Aguas are reachable on foot in about 15-20 minutes along the coast, though sturdy shoes are a good idea. Lena and Klaus
