Raquel and Javier made us feel very welcome and shared useful tips on nearby places to see. The house is roomy and comfortable, and those valley views are stunning. A lovely spot to get away, breathe, and even work remotely if you need to be out of the city. Definitely worth the trip.

The house was a great fit for our family of five, our three kids aged 12, 16, and 18, and our dog. Everyone had their own room, and we could leave our two mountain bikes in the hallway. The beds were made up nicely, and there were plenty of towels and tea towels. Javier welcomed us and explained things in Spanish. The place is right in the middle of San Martín de Unx, and the village itself has a supermarket, a bank, a bar, a restaurant, and a swimming pool. You do need a swimming cap there, which felt a bit odd at first, but everyone wears one. We liked how spacious and comfortable the home was, with tasteful decor, a big living room and kitchen, two showers, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a roof terrace with a great view. It can sleep 11 to 12 people. There are hiking and cycling routes for anyone up for a challenge, plenty of wine to try, and lots of nature and historic places to explore, including Olite and Pamplona. The highways make getting around by car easy. It’s a nice way to see a quieter, more authentic side of Spain while staying within reach of the Costas. Just check opening hours for shops, restaurants, and other places before planning the day, since they can vary. The bakeries are always open, so grabbing fresh coffee and a roll in the morning is a good start.

The quiet here really stood out, with thick walls keeping outside noise away. The mattresses were high quality, the rooms were spacious, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Wi-Fi was good, and the location worked well for exploring the town and nearby villages. Raquel and Javier were fantastic hosts, and the welcome was warm. Lots of thoughtful little touches throughout. I’ll be back.

Javier was especially attentive and did his best to make us feel at home. He even showed us the beautiful Romanesque church of San Martín. I was sorry we couldn’t stay another week. The house has so many charming details and little corners that it felt more like a museum, but still very much like home. The rooms are spacious, all have views, and the beds were so comfortable we didn’t miss our own. The kitchen was fully equipped, and there’s a large living and dining room. I’ll leave the rest for you to discover, the surprise is part of the fun.
