Hacienda La Coracera

The apartment was quiet and extremely clean, with a comfortable mattress, lovely bedding and a nice bathroom with a shower, luxury soap and shampoo. It also had a kettle and a good sized fridge, and check-in was easy. There’s free parking at the station car park, about a five minute walk away, and the hotel’s shared areas looked very nice. The one small drawback was hearing the TV from the room behind the bedroom.

The staff were amazing, and the food was amazing too. I stayed one night in a beautiful room, but couldn’t sleep because rooms 3 and 4 are at the front and have original single-pane windows. Mopeds struggling up the hill woke me, then there was an argument outside. The church bells start at 5 AM, and from around 7:30 the delivery trucks and staff right under the windows are really noisy. The hotel could use double glazing. If you stay, ask for room 1 or 2 at the back, and bring earplugs.

There’s enough room for a family of four, and the rooms are comfortable. They’re set up with glassware, plates, bowls, cutlery, a convection oven, microwave and fridge, so they work for a longer stay or an overnight stop after visiting the local vineyards.

We wandered in by chance and were blown away by the food, service and atmosphere. The solomillo, served sizzling hot, was one of the best I’ve had. My father-in-law ordered the menu of the day and ate so much of it that he skipped dinner. It’s a real gem!
