The place was quiet and well located, just a five-minute walk from a street lined with bars, restaurants, coffee shops and more. It was as clean as anywhere we’ve stayed, and housekeeping was punctual and thorough. The owner and manager was pleasant and knew the area well. I loved this hostel and would stay again without hesitation if we pass through. The restaurant was closed for vacation, which is the only reason I can’t give five stars overall. Maybe it’ll be open next time and earn that last star.

As someone with celiac disease, I was really impressed by how much of the menu could be made gluten-free. They also had gluten-free cakes. The food was delicious, and the host was a lovely, very polite man.

After ten Caminos in Spain, this may be one of the loveliest places we’ve stayed. The rooms are simple but comfortable, with everything we needed: hot water, good pressure, plenty of cleanliness. The woman who runs it felt like a warm hug from home, and I’ve rarely met anyone so wholeheartedly accommodating. Her homemade pizzas are among the best I’ve had on the Camino. Everything on the menu is available all day, which was such a help when we arrived hungry and cold after a long walk. The food is all made from scratch, and you can tell how much pride and care goes into it. Every Camino route has a saint, and she may well be Our Lady of the Camino del Norte. Thanks so much for having us. Your warmth and kindness meant a lot to these sore, tired pilgrims xx

A distinctive place in the best way, with hospitality guided by an ethical approach and a wonderfully unusual pizza selection. I didn’t try a pizza, but another guest told me his was very good. I’d recommend the homemade empanadillas filled with hake and mussels.

My husband and I stayed at Hosteria Sol while walking the Camino Del Norte. The restaurant food was very tasty and the prices were reasonable: burritos and a Sol hamburger with a bottle of wine came to under €25. The accommodation was simple and clean, with a decent amount of space and thoughtful storage and hanging areas for drying clothes. The wifi was strong, and the water temperature and pressure were good. Very highly recommended.
