We chose this for our honeymoon, and that made the lack of any acknowledgment or effort to make the occasion feel special even more disappointing. The room was clean and nicely presented, but the stay overall let us down badly. The advertised dog-friendly policy felt like permission to charge extra: €25 per night for the dog, yet no warmth or accommodation for it. After paying, we still couldn't bring it into the bar or restaurant. On a very rainy day we were left in the room or library area, and the hotel showed no concern. The extra charges pile up: €25 per night for parking, €20 per person per day for breakfast, and €20 per hour for spa access. The initial room rate is misleading, and it felt excessive. The hotel seemed focused on collecting money at every turn instead of making guests feel welcome.

We had a suite for extra space, and it was very roomy, extremely clean, with a very good bathroom. I liked that the water came in glass bottles and the bathroom amenities were thoughtfully chosen, with almost no plastic and compostable packaging. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Dinner on our first night was really good, we had the hake, and the price felt fair for its quality. Breakfast cost quite a bit, but had a big selection of high-quality food. The gym was perfectly adequate, and we'd happily stay again. A couple of things in the dining room could be better: the lighting was too bright even at breakfast, and the music was too loud, though the music itself was fine. We also ordered room-service pizza once, and it wasn't very good or up to the standard of the other food.

The indoor pool and wet area were a big reason we picked this hotel, especially since they feature so prominently in the advertising. We only learned on arrival that using them costs €20 per person per hour, which was extremely disappointing. Keep that in mind if you hoped to relax during siesta, when much of the city closes. There were plenty of good things: a large, well-laid-out room, a big comfortable bed, quick and friendly reception, and excellent food and drinks. The underground walkway into the city center is ingenious. I'd love to give it five stars, but the surprise pool charge held that back.

Great service and a lovely breakfast. Mbark was a wonderful waiter at breakfast, friendly, welcoming, and attentive. We had an amazing stay and will stay here again when we return to San sebastian.

Breakfast wasn't part of our booking, but we tried it and it was excellent, with lots of high-quality options and outstanding orange juice. The service was professional and attentive throughout, and we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return. We had an entry-level room with a less attractive view, so ask for a better one ahead of time. The central location and the hotel's own elevator into town made getting around very easy.
