It’s a peaceful spot just outside San Sebastián, close enough to the city center, and we had a wonderful stay at Heredad de Unanue. The owners and staff were so welcoming and genuinely caring, they made us feel like family from the moment we arrived. The property is beautiful and has a fascinating history, and our room was comfortable. Whenever we needed something, they were right there with a warm, helpful attitude. I’d highly recommend Heredad de Unanue to anyone visiting the area.

Breakfast was lovely, and the hosts’ local suggestions made our visit memorable. You can also have dinner on site, prepared with care. Heredad de Unanue feels more like visiting family than staying at a hotel: the owners greeted us warmly, and the restored rooms and quiet surroundings show how much thought has gone into the place. It blends rustic charm with modern comfort and feels like home.

We slept really well in the comfortable rooms, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Coffee, water, and very good quality tea were available free at any time, day or night. We had a great stay and would come back.

We chose Unanue because of the reviews and weren’t disappointed. Arantxa welcomed us like family, and the suggestions and advice were spot on. The location is excellent and quiet, the room was very nice, and the courtesy space was wonderful. We also enjoyed both dinner at the restaurant and breakfast. We write reviews to share our impressions, and like to think other people do the same. If we’re in the area again, we’ll try to stay here.

We were lucky to find this gem during a week in the Basque area. Heredad de Unanue Hotel was a real highlight. It sits on the edge of town among apple and kiwi orchards, in an old stone building that’s been renovated beautifully and with good taste. The owners and staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We had dinner there one evening, an outstanding meal prepared by a local chef with long experience in Michelin star restaurants.
