The price felt appropriate, and the friendly staff were helpful. The rooms were clean, tidy, modern, and well equipped, with an ideal spot for exploring the old town of San Sebastian. Street noise comes with the location, especially on weekends. The walls by the entrance are quite thin too, so you hear other guests coming and going at any hour.

The owner was super friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed our few days at Pensión Balerdi. The modern rooms had nice, clean bathrooms. From this perfect spot by the historical center, the beaches are only a few minutes' walk away. For a morning surf at Zurriola beach, you could walk there barefoot in your wetsuit. We were really satisfied and would definitely like to come back!

It's a very central guest house, near both beaches, a laundrette, and plenty of places to eat. The rooms are tidy, modern, and smell gorgeous, though there's not much room to unpack lots of luggage, so it suits shorter stays. You can borrow an iron from reception, and Unai even lent me towels for the beach. There's also a detailed notice board updated daily with sunrise and sunset times, tides, and other information. Unai was an amazing host who answered all my questions and more. Thanks to the lovely team and Pension Balerdi for making my 4 days in San Sebastián so enjoyable. I'd recommend it for solo travellers, couples, digital nomads, and even small groups.

Alaitz made us feel at home and shared great suggestions for where to go. She was so helpful and accommodating, even after a small booking mix up. We had a great stay at Pension Balerdi, with a modern room and historic touches right in the heart of old town, close to so many great pintxos. We'd definitely stay again and send our friends here!
