Pensión El Puerto

The location in the charming Old Town is great, close to the beach, the ferry to the island, the Jesus monument, and other San Sebastian attractions. For the price and spot, it's a VERY GOOD choice. My room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel was quiet and clean. I saw the staff cleaning the bathrooms every day. There are three shared bathrooms, so at least one was always free. I didn't have a private bathroom, though I know some rooms do. If your room faces the Old Town street, close the window in the evenings and mornings because it can get loud. The air conditioner also sometimes makes weird noises. I RECOMMEND staying here.

Expedia's room listing didn't say the rooms had no bathrooms. They told me only after the free cancellation period had ended, then refused to refund me. At best that's false advertising, and at worst it's a straight-up scam. Avoid.

The rooms have been redone, with comfortable beds and air conditioning. You're close to all the restaurants San Sebastián has to offer. Just remember that some rooms don't have an en-suite bathroom. We chose this place especially because it said parking was available, then found out they only meant there was parking nearby. The pension didn't manage it or cover it, and couldn't ensure there'd be a space. The place is very well located, but extremely noisy, with poor isolation from sounds inside and out. There were also humidity stains on the wall.
