Casa Migegos Ii

Cell reception was very poor, and there was no Wi-Fi. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable, and there wasn't a dining table, only a countertop. The bathroom door had no lock and was extremely hard to open. The outlet and light switch were right beside each other, which felt dangerous. We also had little control over the heating, which had to stay on all night if we wanted the room cold, and a woman in another house controlled it. She also controlled the porch lights. We'd have liked a bigger TV, or a telescope from the sofa.

Casa Migegos II, the house for four, is in a quiet spot away from roads, with a decent lawn, shady trees, and a barbecue. A roof over the barbecue would help make it usable in the rain, which matters in northern Spain, and the outdoor lighting could be better. The two-story house has just one bathroom upstairs, and its door has no latch and is very difficult to open, especially from inside. The kitchen and living room share a small open space that fits four, but the extractor fan could be more effective. An oven and dishwasher would also be welcome. The TV is tiny and mounted too high above the sofa, and the beds and mattresses are uncomfortable. Heating runs only for short periods and is controlled from the neighboring house by the owners or family. The skylights have no curtains, and the towels, shower gel, and other toiletries provided are very basic. Given all that, the price doesn't feel like a bargain and perhaps should better match what the house offers.

The garden lights were controlled by a woman in another house, and she switched them off when she went to bed, even if we were still eating or having drinks. We ended up clearing the table by flashlight, which was surreal. The house shares a wall with another place and has no soundproofing, so we constantly heard the neighbors and other noise. There are many shortcomings: a house for six or eight people has only one bathroom, with an extremely high bathtub, and the beds were unbearable. I injured my back and had to sleep on a sofa for the last three nights. If you're looking for a vacation, don't stay here.

We rented Migegos I and were told the contract we had signed on arrival was nowhere to be found. The owner only brought it to us on the day we left, which made us suspicious, since no one should enter a rented property without permission. We ended up leaving the next morning after a brief argument, for everyone's sake, and went to Asturias for our holiday instead. On our second night, the owner, who lives across the street, came into the house without warning or knocking to scold us about excessive noise. It had been minimal, as our two-year-old and younger child were in bed with gastroenteritis. We had also been told not to make noise on the stairs because it disturbed the upstairs neighbors, which surprised us because the listing said the whole house was rented and the booking emails never mentioned this. Another rule was that nobody could visit during the day to see the house or have lunch with us.
