Hotel Duerming San Vicente

The breakfast was the biggest letdown. Drinks were limited to American-style coffee and processed orange juice, and most of the food was packaged bread and cookies. There was fresh bread, jelly, butter oil, and tomato, but basically no protein: no ham, cheese, sausage, or eggs. Fresh croissants or muffins would have been welcome too, instead of factory-packaged ones that had been sitting for days. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. The location worked well for exploring the coast, with two nice beach areas nearby, one to the west and one to the south. A path links them along the beach, though you have to drive to one first. Soundproofing is poor, so we could hear the kids next door. In the evening, we needed the window open for cool air, but that meant a lot of outside noise came in during the morning.

Breakfast is simple, as you may have read, but you can bring your own extras. For the price, this family hotel is a great deal. It's tucked away in a quiet, wooded cul-de-sac, with unspoiled rocky beaches a short walk away. Náutico beach bar is nearby for music, food, and drinks. The staff were attentive and charming. We did hear the occasional noisy guest, but knocking on the wall was enough to quiet them.

The room in our section of the building was very basic and smelled strongly of damp. The mattress felt sweaty, so we slept on our beach towels despite them looking clean. The window faced an unsecured passageway, which meant we couldn't keep it open for ventilation. It wasn't a pleasant stay for us, though the other guests made it seem like it could suit families on a budget. The setting between nature and the sea was pleasant, and the staff were friendly and seemed genuinely dedicated.

They were so friendly and attentive, and even have a toaster available for guests with celiac disease. Our checkout is Sunday at 12:00, but they've offered us a room to use after we get back from a day at the beach, so we can shower before our trip. That was really kind. It's a wonderful place to enjoy the area. I'll be back. Thank you!
