Hotel Palacio Marqués de Arizón

We only stayed one night, but had a really good time. The room was just right, and the location was great. The staff were warm, friendly, and professional. We’d happily stay again.

The building is great and the room was good. Given the size of the place and the price, though, I would have expected a gym, spa, or pool.

I was very disappointed. The building is beautiful, but it feels badly used. The rooms are large and have some charm, while so much else fell short. I booked because of the advertised four-star rating, parking, and Wi-Fi, and I was traveling with clients I was guiding. I arrived with my arm in a sling, and nobody offered to help with our luggage. There is a cart, but it has to go over steps. That’s understandable in a historic building, but without assistance it was nearly impossible. The internet and phone didn’t work in my room. Ana was the only helpful staff member; she helped me move. The replacement room was on the ground floor, large but without the charm, with a sewer smell and small windows. I could hear the floor above flushing. While I stayed behind, my clients went on a guided tour. Another room had no electricity, and someone else had trouble switching on the overhead shower. There was no coffee or water, or any offer of help. The staff were rude and the stay was very unpleasant. The building needs attention, and the service felt like one star, except for Ana, who did her best and smiled when I approached even when she couldn’t help. If you book, I’d think of it as a hostal and wouldn’t expect the advertised four-star rating.

Parking was limited, but the central location meant we could walk everywhere. We stayed four nights.
