Posada de Palacio

The room was large and the bathroom was fine, and the hotel has pleasant patio gardens. It's up in the upper part of the city. The interior is very old fashioned, so you have to like that. We didn't try the restaurant. Wi-Fi only worked in some parts of our room, and there was no kettle or fridge, things we think a three-star room should have. Parking is tricky, as it is in much of Andalucía, and if you arrive by car there's nowhere to park or even stop out front to unload luggage. Apart from that, the hotel was okay.

The hotel's a lovely old place, made from four family homes, with birds, flowers, antique furniture, a beautiful terrace, and plenty of nice shared spaces. My family-sized room was spacious. Breakfast was rather limited, and Wi-Fi didn't reach several areas. I could get a consistently strong signal only at reception. There isn't a lift, so luggage could be hard to carry up those beautiful stairs if your room isn't on the ground floor. The staff offered to take mine, but I declined.

The old-fashioned ambience was superb, and the price was hard to beat. It's in an ideal spot, with plenty to do nearby and a beautiful old church. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable, the shower was hot, and the AC was ice cold.

A lovely place to get ready for a quiet, relaxed visit to the city. You can have breakfast in the fresh garden, away from the noise, with birdsong and a marvelous atmosphere. After coffee, you can also visit parts of the palace. The village's main monuments and cellars are nearby. It's the best place for breakfast in Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
