azuLine Hotel Pacific

We had a confirmed booking at azuline hotel Pacific for five months, but when we arrived at 9 pm we were told there were no rooms. The receptionist took our names and passports and casually said we’d be sent to a hotel 30 minutes away. We refused because we had chosen this location for a reason, and were left stranded. No one seemed concerned or willing to help beyond sending us elsewhere. The hotel hadn’t even told love holidays about the problem. We spent two hours in the street with our luggage, on the phone trying to arrange somewhere to stay late at night. Shocking organisation and customer service, and a stressful start to a holiday booked months ahead. Avoid.

Dinner and breakfast have both been great, and my room was immaculate. I arrived last night and was immediately impressed by how friendly the receptionist was. They upgraded me from a single to a triple at no charge, and left a couple of complimentary water bottles and nuts. I’m really happy I picked this hotel. Book it.

The food, cleanliness and most of the staff were lovely, and the receptionists were especially nice. Carla was amazing and a real asset to the company. The dinner and breakfast buffets were great, and I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel overall. But Debbie’s attitude completely spoiled our last morning. At breakfast she rudely accused us of taking food from the buffet, which we hadn’t done, and made us feel very uncomfortable. Later, I saw her tell a woman she couldn’t eat crisps by the pool, then aggressively approach a group, shout that they had to get rid of everything they had with them, invade their space and search their bags. They had a couple of glass beer bottles, which aren’t allowed, and that rule is understandable, but they were being reasonable and she could have simply explained it calmly. Instead, she told one guest to go with her to speak to the director, who would decide if they could stay. I work in a hotel myself and would never go through a guest’s bag or invade their space like that. Every other staff member was lovely, but Debbie was a serious hindrance to the company.

The location is excellent, conveniently close to the airport bus link, but the service fell short. I had a confirmed reservation for earlier this week and got no email or phone call about a problem. When I arrived, staff knew I was waiting at reception but ignored me for several minutes. Then I was told my room was unavailable due to a technical issue. They first offered a place 30 minutes away, and only after I formally complained did they give me a more reasonable alternative 10 minutes away. I was visiting for personal reasons rather than leisure, so these disruptions were especially difficult. I hope management fixes these communication gaps.
