AC Hotel San Cugat by Marriott

The main downside is the setting: there isn't much around in the evening. Still, the station is under a 20-minute walk away, with a direct train to Barcelona. The room was very comfortable, breakfast had a good range, and the restaurant was fine for dinner. There's also a pool, though I visited in autumn and didn't use it. A very nice hotel.

The area is mostly offices, so there isn't much to see or do nearby, though taxis are easy to find and the hotel is walkable. Staff were great, and the rooms were spacious and very clean. Breakfast had plenty of choice, while the gym was so small it could fit only one or two people. We spent a week there and kept having to ask for toilet paper. They supplied just two tiny rolls, then only one at a time, which felt a little embarrassing. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided, but bring tissues if you need them. The bed was okay, though not especially comfortable. There is a mini fridge, but it was stocked with snacks and drinks for sale, so we moved everything into the closet to use it and put it all back before leaving.

The hotel was quiet at night, and the rooms were spotless and modern, which made it easy to unwind after a day out. The service was excellent from arrival, and the atmosphere was lovely. The station is within walking distance for getting around the area. There are no shops or restaurants nearby, and although the location is close enough to downtown, Bonvoy members don't get complimentary breakfast. There is no lounge at the property either. Those were small downsides for me. I had a great stay at AC Hotel Sant Cugat and would gladly come back.

Getting there by car is convenient, though public transport is less straightforward, and there are no shops or restaurants within walking distance. The room looked good and was clean, but I could hear even small noises from neighboring rooms through the thin walls and ceiling. I stayed five nights and found this hotel different from other Marriott properties. Even with Platinum Bonvoy status, I didn't receive complimentary breakfast, and there is no lounge on site.
