Van Der Valk Hotel Barcarola

It’s a fabulous town, and the hotel is nice, with good-sized rooms and either a terrace or balcony. There are plenty of places to eat nearby, plus a good-value restaurant at the hotel itself. The beach is only a two-minute walk away. We had a broken bathroom door hinge and the safe ran out of battery, though the staff responded quickly. The hinge never got fixed. I put both problems down to end-of-season wear and tear, and would still happily recommend the hotel.

I’m always very happy staying here. The breakfast is amazing, and the staff are really friendly. The rooms are great, especially the four new ones, which are 5-star-plus quality.

After a long day riding my bike, this was such a lovely place to come back to. My room was spotless, with a huge terrace, and the beach was very close. I had a lovely stay, and all the staff were kind and helpful.

We loved our three nights in a luxury double. The room was comfortable, and the bed was excellent. Everyone we dealt with, from reception to the restaurant, housekeeping, and bar, was helpful and attentive. The hotel is just one block from the beach but still very quiet. We had dinner at the restaurant twice; the menu had plenty of choice and was good value. Breakfast had an excellent selection, and eating outside by the pool was lovely. Free parking was a big bonus, and the water coolers around the hotel made it easy to refill bottles. Totally recommend it.
