Hostal Torras

Great people, and you get a lot for your money.

We never got to stay, so I can't judge the accommodation itself. We booked a month and a half ahead because we had a wedding to attend. The day before, we called the property all day and nobody answered. Booking then told us it was closed for renovations. How were we supposed to know? They hadn't even contacted us to say anything. It felt very unprofessional and like customers didn't matter, except for the money. I definitely wouldn't recommend it. A terrible experience.

Once we finally got checked in, the welcome was lovely. The female manager was kind and very accommodating, and the managers turned out to be pleasant. The room was spotless, with simple but useful facilities. The shower kept swinging between hot and cold, and there was no air conditioning, though we weren't uncomfortable from the heat. Getting to that point was frustrating. Reception was meant to open at 3, but at 3:15 nobody was there. The manager shouted down the stairs for the female manager to come greet us, and ten minutes later she still hadn't arrived. We even went outside to look for another hotel, without success, then came back. Despite the rough start, I was happy with the stay.

The service really needs work. With only around three tables occupied, we waited about 20 minutes and nobody even asked what we wanted to drink. If you can get through the wait without getting too hungry, the place is worth trying. The food is genuinely good, and it’s a handy, affordable option when other restaurants have awkward hours and you’re struggling to find somewhere to eat.
