Apartamentos Blanco Sol

We had a peaceful four-night stay in August, and the grounds were immaculate. There were always plenty of loungers around the lovely pool. We didn't have a car, but the owners run a seven-seater taxi that we used to get to the beach and Ibiza old town. When I left my handbag in a local restaurant one evening, the owner called them straight away and drove over. He got it back to me within ten minutes, and wouldn't accept the money I offered. This is a lovely family business, and I'd definitely recommend it for a relaxing break in a beautiful part of the island.

The place looked nice and tidy, but getting around and the checkout were frustrating. There isn't a taxi rank nearby, and when we ordered taxis we often waited for hours, which repeatedly made us late. Some nights we had to use their car service because no taxi came, and it cost twice the usual fare. There weren't other food places around, so we mostly ordered from the limited menu here, and they could often only offer pizza. We had two bedrooms but only one mirror, which wasn't practical for a group of girls in Ibiza. At checkout, they were extremely rude to the friend handling it for us, wouldn't let us stay a minute past 10am on Sunday despite check-in not starting until 3pm, and added items we hadn't ordered, including two bottles of wine. We'd never ordered drinks there, so it felt like they were trying to rip us off. They also said we'd lose our deposit unless we took all the rubbish to the street bins. I've never had to do that at a hotel, though I have at an Airbnb. It left us very disappointed with the staff. Thank goodness the rest of Ibiza made up for it.

We asked to move or leave because the apartment was in such poor shape, but the owner got angry and shouted at us instead of offering a solution. It was around 40 years old and seemed never to have been renovated, despite the updated apartments shown online. Fungus was growing on every wall, and it smelled awful from water damage that hadn't been fixed. There were so many rotten and broken things that I can't list them all. The place felt unhealthy and disgustingly outdated. We were allowed to leave and stay at another hotel, but the owner never returned our money, even though he promised to.

We had a lovely stay here with our young toddler. I can't recommend it highly enough for families with little ones. I'm surprised by some of the negative reviews.
