The kitchen appliances were grimy, and the bedsheets were dirty and smelled of sweat. Unless you’re coming in the coldest winter months, the apartment will probably feel too warm because there’s no air conditioning. That could be why the bedding stank. Upstairs, the ceiling fan’s sharp blades swung around like some contraption from saw, as if it could fall from the ceiling at any moment. There were bugs all over the place, with cockroaches running around the apartment and silverfish in the downstairs bathroom. There was no soap by the sinks, and the shower barely had enough hot water to bathe the cockroaches living there. The garden was just dirty gravel overrun with weeds, if you can even call it a garden. A stinky tree by apartment number 14 meant we couldn’t open the door, and with all the mosquitoes around, we wouldn’t have wanted to anyway. My uncle got bitten 46 times and looked like he’d come straight out of the year 1350 with the plague. Come prepared! For a cheap place, it still isn’t worth it. Don’t come unless you want to spend half your stay cleaning the kitchen, and save yourself the money and trauma.

We had a perfect family break here. The apartment was clean, roomy and well equipped, and both the pool area and the surroundings were peaceful. The beach is only a two-minute walk away. A lovely spot to enjoy the island and relax. We’ll be back.

The apartments are lovely and have great views, and the pool is great too. It’s a very isolated spot, so you need a car. Restaurants, supermarkets and beaches are about a 10-minute drive away.

The units are roomy enough, and there’s a pool on site, which is a plus. People we met nearby were friendly and said it was safe to walk around, though you should still use due diligence. The area is very remote, though. Everything is far away, there’s no public transport nearby, and taxis are expensive, so you definitely need a car. There’s a restaurant on site, but it caters only for weddings. The nearest beach is rocky and full of plant debris. You can walk to Cala Tarida on what seems to be a trail, but the hills are steep. I enjoy mountain hiking, so that was no issue for me. Local roads are basic, rough dirt and rock, so watch your footing and look out for vehicles, since pedestrians don’t have priority. The units aren’t soundproof, I’ll leave it at that. WiFi was very poor, so don’t expect Netflix for a relaxing evening or to entertain kids. The place also needs structural upkeep.
