The biggest downside for us was the food queue. Waiting five minutes just to get one item meant the food was cold by the time we sat down. The setup didn't work well, and desserts often ran out before a completely different option came out. That led people to take more than they could eat, so there was more waste. At the ice-cream station I had ten people ahead of me. The kids' buffet was handy and had no queues. We also had trouble with smoking around the dining area. I think there should be designated smoking spots, with the other areas smoke-free. A woman once sat right in front of my five-year-old son while we were eating lunch and lit up. Smoke blew into his face and he started coughing straight away, so we all had to move. The rooms felt dated, and our shower only gave a lukewarm trickle. There was dust in some spots, although housekeeping did tidy our room. I think sea-view rooms should say where they're located. Ours did have a sea view, but also looked over the pool, bar, and busiest part of the hotel. We didn't mind the noise and actually liked watching the entertainment from the balcony, but it did mean late nights every night. The beds were so comfortable I fell asleep instantly, and I'd stay in that kind of room again. There was plenty to enjoy with the children. My five-year-old loved her swimming lesson with coach Siri and was thrilled to go into the 'deep'; she felt safe. Thanks to coach Fredrik and coach Fran as well. The football academy worked well for my ten-year-old despite the big age range. It kept him active, taught skills and values of the game, and was a great way to start the day. Kids' clubs kept my five-year-old twins and ten-year-old busy, and they want to thank Erin. Entertainment suited all ages, and Adriano did a great job keeping the snow going. The silent disco was our favourite, and all four of our children, aged 5-13, had a great time. The location was fantastic, under 30 minutes from the airport, with a beautiful beach a three-minute walk away. It's quite small, but didn't feel crowded, and the sand is coarse. We had lovely service from the outside bar staff, Sophia, Astrid, Juan and Alexandro, who greeted us with a smile when they saw us. Astrid made my drink just right every time and was so infectious with her smile. Juan made my pina colada how I like it each time. He also had the scariest Halloween costume, and should win if there was a competition. The paella was the best I've had, thanks Corala and Isabelle. Paola's massage was fantastic too. She said she needed one herself after massaging me, which shows how passionate she is about her work. The food was delicious, especially the meat, seasoned perfectly each day. I never got bored, and even with my children's fussiness and food aversions, nobody went hungry.
We came as a couple and had a wonderful week at sea view country club. It's clean and lovely, with lots of pool options and entertainment for children. There's also a quiet infinity pool area, and beautiful views all around. The beach is just a stone's throw away, and there's a bus stop across from the hotel with service to sanantonio. We enjoyed the food, with plenty of gluten-free choices available to order, and more variety than the usual burgers and chips. We'll definitely return, hopefully with the children in two years. Thanks for a great week.
The food was a highlight, with a different menu each night and options for everyone, far beyond the usual all-inclusive chips and burgers. The hotel is very welcoming for children, with entertainment all day and kids' clubs. Rooms are fairly modern in a standard Spanish style, and the family room's kitchenette came in handy. Just keep in mind that the entertainment is loud and can run until 10 or 11 at night. With small kids, I'd make sure to avoid a pool-view room.
There are several pools to choose from: a small one for kids, lively family pools with music, and the quieter sunset infinity pools, which were my pick. Great views, chilled music, and a beer, perfect. The waterpark was a great addition, just steps from the hotel. It's a family-focused place and gets very busy, but there's plenty on site to keep little ones occupied. Food was good. The separate kids' buffet is away from the main one, though whoever thought sweets and sugary desserts should be within easy reach of kids clearly doesn't have any. The grill, Italian, and American a la carte options were a nice change. Drinks ranged from okay to good, with Estrella on tap and the main local spirits you'd expect. The machine-mixed cocktails were about 70% sugar, I'd guess, and far too sweet. The mojito was the nicest, though still too sweet. The beach next door is lovely, with great sunsets, and it's an easy two-minute walk from the hotel. There are bars and restaurants along it. The location was good for driving to a number of places in a few minutes, and there was parking out front.
It was overcrowded even in October, with long food queues and barely anything left at the buffet. The food was awful, rooms were dirty, and heavy rain flooded them. On many occasions there were no towels at all because they'd been used to clean up floodwater. Most nights the entertainment was the same, basically holiday reps doing karaoke, with no actual music or shows. The beach beside the hotel was nice, and we swam there instead of using the pool. Some staff were friendly, while others seemed miserable and fed up, which was understandable given how packed the hotel was. A lovely girl helped with the babies on a playmat and was very nice. The young man with glasses at the restaurant entrance was cheerful and welcoming every day.
