Alua Illa de Menorca Hotel

The restaurant had a decent range of food for different tastes, and the staff and sea views were real highlights. But the room was small and felt a bit tired. We’d booked for three, and once the extra bed was put in there was barely space to move or get to the balcony, which was disappointing with such a great view. My daughter also didn’t like the very thick pancakes, and the menu stayed the same during our second week, so meals got repetitive. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming when we arrived, and the maid service was excellent throughout our stay. The room size and dining variety could be better.

We had such a good week and are already looking forward to coming back next year. The hotel is in a great spot, everything was spotless, and the rooms were lovely. The pool is beautiful, and the staff are friendly and happy to help.

Breakfast and dinner had quite a bit of choice, though the food could have been hotter. The location is peaceful but very quiet, with not much to do outside the hotel, just a couple of bars and two small supermarkets. We really enjoyed our stay, with lovely clean rooms, brilliant nightly entertainment and excellent staff.

The area is very quiet, but a walk nearby takes you to some lovely coves for swimming. You can catch a local bus to parts of the island, though you need to plan ahead. Reception were very helpful with a few problems we had. They can provide gluten free beer and food if you ask, but check with a chef about what you can eat, not the waiters. We didn’t enjoy the evening entertainment much. It was mostly singers, and some weren’t very good. Would I stay again if I came back to Menorca? Yes.
