The beach is right nearby, and the water is incredibly clear, great for snorkelling. The hotel itself was great too, with very friendly staff and clean, spacious rooms with big balconies. The food was very good quality. Even when the buffet got busy, dishes were refilled quickly and there was rarely a wait.

We had such a good week here with our 18 month old son. The family room suited us perfectly: two connected rooms and a travel cot our baby actually slept in, which was a first for us. It meant we could spend time in the other room while he napped or after bedtime. There's plenty for families around the resort, including laundry, lots of high chairs, and kids' play and splash pools. The staff were all friendly and understanding about the mess our toddler made. We loved the evening mini-disco, where our little one danced along. The beach is a nice five-minute walk away, and there's a playground with swings and other things he enjoyed. Nearby shops were handy for nappies and washing-up supplies. The food was really good, and we liked the themed meals as well as having pizza and pasta available. The vegetarian choices varied in quality from one time to another. The entertainment team were impressive, making a real effort to include guests in different languages. If our baby were a bit older, we'd have liked him to join the kids' club activities. The main pools seemed to be a lot of fun, though we mostly chose the quieter pool by the basketball court. We'd love to come back.

We had a good experience in other respects, but it's inexcusable to feel unsafe while trying to relax. During our week at the Occidental Menorca hotel, a brand new pair of sneakers was stolen from the pool area. We'd left them unattended for just 30 minutes while staff were cleaning up. The place didn't feel safe, and staff clearly didn't care to help. Better safe than sorry, book your holiday at a different hotel.

The flies and wasps were a constant nuisance when we were eating outside or spending time by the pool and bars. The fly traps were all empty, and it seemed like staff had given up trying to stop them. Otherwise, it seems like a great hotel.
