Palou 1874 Hotel

The staff were friendly and flexible, and the prices were good. It’s a peaceful, cozy hotel that brought a sense of calm and enjoyment to our holiday. The style and decor are fantastic.

Breakfast was generous and delicious, with choices for a range of tastes. We’re picky ovo-lacto vegetarians, and the staff were gracious about accommodating us. The other guests also seemed more cosmopolitan than at most places we’ve stayed in Spain. We didn’t get to use the pool or patio, but both looked inviting and beautifully maintained. I’d rate this three-star hotel five stars for its setting and lovely property. It’s in beautiful Sant Pere de Ribes, a short hop from Sitges and Vilanova I la Geltrú. The grounds and building are beautiful, with thoughtful decor and room names. We stayed in Caña de Azucar, a name that appealed to me as a Cuban by origin. Our room was spacious and clean, with sensible luggage space, a nice towel rack, and wonderfully large towels. Parking costs just $10 a night for up to five spaces, which is a real find in a town where street parking is almost impossible. Make sure it’s included in your reservation and pick up the gate key for the lot on Carrer del Raco, very close to the hotel. We’ll stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.

A relaxed, quiet hotel with an attached restaurant where you can easily get dinner. The staff are attentive and polite, and I have no complaints. The building is beautiful, and the rooms are clean, spacious, and great. They’ve really got relaxation figured out!

Hotel Palou was our favorite stay on our road trip through Spain. My wife and I stayed last night and loved the small, charming hotel. Our room was lovely and better than we expected. We paid more than twice as much at other places that didn’t come close. When we arrived on a Monday, nearly all the restaurants were closed. The manager, Judith, suggested Taverna la Nova Premsa, where we had some of the best tapas we’ve enjoyed during five weeks of travel in Spain. Judith also made a terrific breakfast, with delicious cappuccinos from a proper espresso machine instead of those awful automated hotel machines. Thanks again, Judith! And it’s only ten minutes from Sitges.
