AC Hotel Tenerife by Marriott

It’s easy to explore the city on foot from here, and the staff were friendly. The rooms feel dated and could use a renovation. We were in room 01, right behind reception, and heard everything happening there, along with the lobby music late into the night.

The reception service felt standoffish and not especially helpful, as if good service were an exception rather than part of the job. The garage only fits “small cars.” Although the hotel itself looks nice, the room furnishings were poor: the back of the sink leaked onto the floor, the drain was blocked, the parquet felt sticky, and the phone didn’t work. This didn’t feel like a 4-star hotel.

The staff were friendly, and they let us leave our luggage there. Breakfast was average, and the connecting doors between rooms meant we could hear our neighbors constantly, which wasn’t comfortable. The location is handy if you’re taking a cruise, so I’d recommend it for a night before or after one.

The parking garage was the tightest and steepest underground lot I’ve ever seen. I’d avoid taking a manual car in there. The hotel sits in a lively area, which is convenient for food, drinks, and the cruise port, but people walking below were noisy at night. The rooms were modern, clean, and laid out well. Staff were efficient, though some were friendlier than others. A comfortable place, but that parking was the worst I’ve encountered.
