Apartamento Atlantida

The location is convenient, with easy access to bus stations and close to Meridiano, the biggest shopping mall. But we had a very poor experience, and I wouldn’t recommend the hotel given the service, communication and room conditions. Just a few days before our flight to Tenerife, the rooms we’d booked through the official website were cancelled. We spent half a day trying to call reception, but the calls were rejected. Then we got an email saying the booking had been successfully cancelled and no refund was possible. We nearly lost £1000. Our rooms were extremely cold, with no heating despite it being mentioned in the booking. I got sick and had to take medicine. Reception said they didn’t have heating, and the receptionist said she would have an extra blanket delivered to our room, but nothing arrived before the last day of our stay. Cleaning was very poor. There was no toilet paper, so we bought some ourselves. The blankets and pillows looked dirty and neglected after cleaning. The cups weren’t cleaned, and they sometimes forgot to leave towels or garbage paper. The TV was very old and basically unusable. The gym was constantly wet because it’s right next to the jacuzzi, making it unpleasant and unsafe to use. We ended up paying for a Vivagym subscription for the period because the hotel gym and jacuzzi weren’t usable.

The room is really clean and comfortable, and the service here is great, very helpful and friendly. I extended my stay by another three days. I’d come back anytime I’m in Santa Cruz. 10 stars.

The room was the problem. We had a spacious, well laid out junior suite that was modern and generally in good condition, but it wasn’t especially clean. There was a large floor stain, several marks on the walls, holes in the drapes, and a mildew smell in the bathroom. If it had been properly clean, this would easily have been a five-star review. This one experience means we’ll look for a different hotel next time we’re in Santa Cruz. There were real positives: the hotel is well located and easy to reach, and the parking garage was easy to use and not expensive. Staff let us park several hours before check-in and stay a few hours after, which fitted our travel schedule well. The check-in staff were also very friendly and helpful.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing time at the Atlantida Hotel in Santa Cruz. Francisco at reception was genuinely wonderful. You could see how much he enjoyed helping us and cared about us having a good time at the hotel. He’s very professional, and we see a lot of potential in him.
