BLESS Ibiza Cala Nova - The Leading Hotels of the World

We enjoyed the trip, and the hotel’s location was great, with beach bars and restaurants next door. The sunrise was lovely, though you don’t get those amazing sunsets. The roof terrace had a fantastic view, but check whether it’s available during your stay: two private events were held there on Friday and Saturday. We only found out by reading a notice and asking staff, and weren’t told before or after check-in. There was no hotel entertainment those nights. That may not matter if you’re going clubbing, but we wanted a quiet glass of wine after dinner and had to go elsewhere. The hotel drinks selection was good. The food was disappointing for the price, with limited choice and poor preparation and presentation. At breakfast, flies put us off the uncovered fresh fruit. Our spa massage was perfect, though the spa itself felt very tired.

The room temperature was a problem in September and October: the air conditioning left it freezing, and there was no heating. There were other basic failures too. Hot water stopped while I was showering with shampoo in my hair and didn’t return for hours, and the toilet only flushed sometimes. The fine dining restaurant was closed for a private event, leaving room service as the only option, with long waits. At breakfast, we waited 45 minutes for a poached egg. At the pool, towels were left on every sunbed all day to reserve them, although most beds stayed empty. Guests could claim as many as they liked. Management seemed indifferent to comfort and unprofessional. Parking outdoors costs €30 a day, and they sometimes returned our car covered in bird droppings. A loud party in the hotel went on until 2 a.m. The music shook the rooms. They lowered it a little only after I threatened to call the police, and it was still impossible to sleep. We paid over €1,000 a night for this. I can’t understand how the hotel has five stars or is considered a “Leading Hotel of the World.” Never again.

The hotel itself is super nice, and the team made a real difference to our stay at Bless Hotel. We travel a lot and have seen plenty of high-class hotels, but this team made us feel welcome and cared for from the first minute. They handled all our needs, from flowers and the room to reservations and a birthday surprise. We can highly recommend a relaxing holiday here, as a couple or as a family. We’ll definitely book here again. The location is peaceful in a northern town, with great beaches and calm nights, but there’s still plenty to do and shopping nearby. Ibiza city is an easy 35-40 minute drive. The service had Four Seasons style touches. Liz at the front desk was incredible, helpful and sweet. Fernanda at the pool went above and beyond for my friends and me and made our poolside time special. Paula from room service was helpful and funny, still elegant, and remembered the little details. Ten out of ten, fabulous.
