Hostal Mar y Huerta

I stopped in for a beer today after seeing this hotel come up several times while looking at Ibiza holidays. I'd skipped over it before because the pool looked small, but after visiting, I'd definitely book a stay here next time. It seems like a lovely, small, friendly hotel, right in the middle of Es Canar and close to the beach, shops, and bars. A lovely little place. ☀️🌴🍺👍

The staff were so lovely, and they even left a small gift for me and my wife since we were there on our honeymoon. We had a lovely stay, and the rooms are simple but charming. The location is perfect if you want to get away from the chaos of the city centre. There are plenty of nice restaurants around, and lovely places to walk to within a reasonable distance. Huge thanks to the hotel team.

The staff were fantastic and always happy to help, and breakfast was good and included in the price. The pool area gets plenty of sun. Our room was clean, comfortable, and nice, but it faced the car park, so there wasn't much of a view. The walls are paper-thin, and we could hear the neighbours talking. Those were the only downsides. The hotel is a stone's throw from the nearest beach, and there's a small free car park behind it if you have a car.

The rooms were clean, the cleaners and bar staff friendly, and the location was great. Still, I wouldn't stay again. I asked for the highest floor and a sea-view room, but was first put on floor 1 of the three, in a room with no view. I arrived before check-in, and they did let me in at 2 instead of 3 on my birthday so I could meet my family. I appreciated that, but nobody replied when I asked about parking, so I parked far away and had to pay. They eventually moved me to a sea-view room, but it had an adjoining door. I could hear a couple having sex through it, and had to use another key and cross the hallway to reach the private bathroom I'd paid for. On my last morning, the cleaner came into that bathroom despite my Do Not Disturb sign. The floor was soaking, and I slipped while trying to rinse my beach things before flying home. Their cleaning cloths and other stuff were in there too. The hot drinks machine is switched off right at 10:00, so tea after breakfast isn't an option. Nobody told me breakfast was included, and I missed the first of the two days I'd paid for. Check-in took forever because the receptionist seemed completely flustered and on another planet. There were cockroaches in reception. Some of this might have been easier to accept if it hadn't felt like a complete rip-off. Check all the details before you arrive.
