The staff were friendly, and I don’t think those employees were personally responsible for the discomfort we had. Still, I didn’t get the room I paid for, and ended up spending another $55 for comfort. After seeing other negative reviews, I wish I’d been more careful about choosing this place. I’d booked through Expedia. Wednesday was 50€ and Thursday 100€, an odd difference, but averaging 75€ seemed acceptable. There were several room categories: one listed a double or two twins, another a queen or two twins. A double is too small for us, so I deliberately picked the queen option. The day before arriving, we called about parking. They said our car was too big for the garage, but that parking nearby would be easy. On arrival, I was told they’d received my request for two twins but couldn’t respond to it. We got a double instead. I asked to change rooms and even asked about paying for an upgrade, having forgotten I’d chosen a queen. They said we’d have to move again for the second night if we did that. The hotel was supposedly full, and it seemed the arriving guests mattered more. My husband went looking for parking and drove around for 20 minutes before returning frustrated. The same thing happened the next night. After a sleepless night, I contacted Expedia. They apologized and offered compensation as account credit, which I accepted. At 7:00 a.m. I asked another front desk employee about the room I’d paid for. Again, there were no queen beds. In the end, I paid 50€ more for a junior suite for night two and moved everything over in my pajamas at 7:30 a.m. It was better, with a very comfortable king bed, but the odd jacuzzi tub and shower combination had no curtain, which made bathing awkward.

A regular bus to the centre stops right outside, and the roof terrace is great. The shower was warm and powerful, the place was clean, and the Wi-Fi was fast enough for remote work, around 15-40mb. There’s a good restaurant next door and plenty of others nearby. A really good place to stay.

Santa Fe, the "Cradle of Hispanicity," is a lovely place to stay. The building has a classical style, and the room was spacious. Breakfast in the cafeteria was a bit modest, though.

There was only one staff member handling check-in, check-out, parking, and everything else. We waited over 15 minutes just to be told where to park. The space they provided was extremely narrow, with a real risk of damaging the car. Maneuvering and using the elevator took time, and we couldn’t access it without staff help. It was narrower than any other hotel parking we used in Spain. One staff member was extremely rude. He spoke in Spanish to another guest about us, though he’d told us he was speaking to them at that moment. They later said he’d been talking about us. He referred only to the male member of our party and threatened to call the police when we asked for contact details to make a complaint. He suggested we speak to the manager, but handed the phone to a manager who didn’t speak English and wouldn’t translate. The cancellation took around 15-20 minutes and seemed to be dragged out deliberately.

Dinner and breakfast were nice, and we felt very welcome. The rooms are basic, and parking is a little complicated. There’s a good bus into Granada every 20 minutes. Nothing especially memorable, and I wouldn’t call it a four star hotel.
