The view while sitting with a coffee was lovely, and the pool was all right once you got used to how cold it was. The place was clean, and the staff were very helpful. There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room, though you could hire a kettle for €5 for the week. The food was okay, with enough variety for a small hotel, but the main dishes were a bit cold. To me, it felt more suited to older guests than children. All in all, not a bad place to stay.
The pool is more for a quick splash than a proper swim, and it didn't have much atmosphere. That wasn't a big problem with the beach right opposite. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, though a little tired looking. Mine had a terrible buzzing hum that wasn't coming from the mini fridge or the air conditioning. For a 3-star hotel, it was exceptional. The food was great and the service friendly and efficient. It was easy to see why so many German guests choose it.
We really enjoyed our stay. The sea view from our clean room was amazing, and the food was tasty with plenty of variety. The sea is right outside, and other beaches are only a short walk away. The staff were kind, helpful and happy to chat. We could see every day how conscientious they were in their work. I especially liked the enclosed pool area for hotel guests: there was always a free sunbed, and we could leave our things there safely while we went to the beach.
The worst part was how checkout was handled. Checkout was clearly at noon, yet staff entered our room at 3:30am and again at 9am. When I challenged the receptionist, he claimed my friends had tried to enter, even though they'd already been on the plane since 3am and had left their keycards in the room. He made me feel as if I were the stupid one. It was terrible behavior, and he should have simply admitted the mistake. Communication was awful. We'd booked for two, with the option of a third person confirmed by email, but on arrival we were charged €300 for a basic rollaway bed. The pool and jacuzzi are outside the hotel across the road and are almost always in the shade. Cleaning happens early; if you haven't left by 10 a.m., the cleaners won't come, though they did kindly change our towels and take out the trash. The Wi-Fi didn't work anywhere, so working or downloading even a simple document was impossible. I can't recommend this hotel.
The food was excellent, with a good range of choices, especially at breakfast. The staff were exceptional, and Pepe and the restaurant team gave first-class service. We stayed eight nights at the end of May. Our room had an amazing view, and the hotel is just across from the beach. I hope to return next year and can't wait.
