The family running La Huella made the place for me. They’re gentle, kind people, and I felt so comfortable and safe that leaving the next day was almost a shame. After a long stretch of walking with nowhere to stop for food, a drink, or a rest, it really does feel like an oasis, especially in December. The dorms are roomy, with lockers, reading lights and chargers by the beds, plus clean cotton sheets. Bathrooms were spotless. Alejandro, the owner, cooks wonderfully, mixing local flavors with his own inventive touch. I won't forget that dinner, and I’ll be glad of the energy it gave me for tomorrow. The restaurant itself is lovely. There was a TV at one end showing ‘Pride and Prejudice’ with Spanish subtitles and no sound, nice to glance at while eating quietly. There’s also a pool out back, which must be a treat in warm weather. Easily one of the best albergues on the Camino Frances.

A good spot to recover after a long stage, though book ahead because it tends to fill up. Beds start at €15 and feel like great value. The place is modern, very clean, and well looked after, with a pool, large shared spaces, and a laid-back feel among the pilgrims. The staff were especially kind and ready to help. Dinner is served as a pilgrim menu from 6 to 8 p.m., with generous servings and good quality food.
We had a communal dinner that honestly could have passed for a five-star hotel meal. The owner was super friendly, and the whole albergue was clean and modern. Best one on the Camino, easily.
The common room had good music and beer on tap, and the hospitality was amazing. Everything was neat and clean, with great facilities. The pilgrim menu was piping hot, delicious home cooking. Hot damn, this is the best albergue I've stayed at so far on the Camino.
I was left standing for ten minutes while they got my table ready. After finishing a salad, I tried to order a hamburger, but was told at 5:02 that the kitchen had closed at 5 and wouldn't reopen until 6. A little flexibility for someone who was already eating would have been nice.
