Holiday Park Santa Ponsa

We’ve just got back from Holiday Park Apartments and really liked the location and friendly staff. There’s no lift, which is the main drawback. Valerie at reception was a real gentleman and very helpful when we needed advice and help with my husband. The snack bar staff were lovely too.

The lack of a lift is worth bearing in mind: we had a second-floor apartment and faced a lot of stairs, so a ground-floor room would be better for anyone with children or mobility needs. Otherwise, it was a lovely stay. The view of the mountains was gorgeous, the apartment was very clean, and staff were respectful and amazing. They helped my friends and me sort out our transfer details and answer questions. The beach was just a three-minute walk away, with shops, pubs, clubs and restaurants nearby. The pool was nice, and there were games for adults and kids during the day. We felt very safe there.

Be aware there are lots of steps around the rooms, so this probably isn't a good fit if you have mobility issues. For a week in Santa Ponsa, though, it made an ideal base and was a real bargain. The apartment was clean, and everyone was welcoming and helpful. Reception made a great first impression, while the housekeeping staff were always smiling and saying a cheerful "Ola". Carl's entertainment was excellent, and his enthusiasm really rubbed off on us. If you're after an affordable break in a nice apartment and a great location, book it.

The room was a little dated, but it had what we needed: a small hob, a proper fridge and utensils. The hotel and room were lovely, and the pool was cleaned daily. Staff seemed friendly, and we'd come back for a week. We spent our days at the beach, only five minutes away, so I can't comment on the daytime hotel atmosphere. Our top-floor room, number 331, meant three flights of stairs from reception, and there are quite a few steps in general, so it may not suit anyone with mobility problems. The view made the climb worthwhile, with the pool from the balcony and the sea from the bedroom window. The balcony was sunny all morning and shaded by evening. Air conditioning costs extra, but the hotel offers two fans free; we used them and found that plenty. We stayed four nights.
